Blood Drive

There will be a blood drive this month in the Jacoby Auditorium Lobby on Wednesday Feb. 22 and Thursday Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Those interested in donating blood will need a valid ID and should contact Marjan Coester for an appointment at 541-440-7749 or marjan.coester@umpqua.edu

Shadow Effects

Shadow Effects is a multi-media exhibit by UCC art instructor Renee Couture that is showing at Douglas County Museum of Natural and Cultural History until March 31.  The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Car Auction

UCC Auto Shop is auctioning a 2000 Pontiac Grand AM SE.  The starting bid is $1200. The auction will run Feb. 1 through Feb. 15 at noon. Sealed bids should be turned in to the cashier at the administration building. Please include your name, phone number and bid in the envelope.

The following new classes were brought before Instructional Council for approval this month:

PSY 231- Human Sexuality- Suzanne Schultz
165- Anthropology of Sex- K. Renee Barlow, PhD
Math 261- Introduction to Linear Algebra- Dee Winn
BOT 203A- Botany of Southern Oregon and Northern California- Ken Carloni

Foundation Scholarships

The application deadline for Foundation Scholarships for the 2012-13 academic year is March 2.  Students can apply for all Foundation Scholarships by completing and submitting one application on the Foundation Webpage: www.umpqua.edu/ucc-foundation

There have been changes to the recommendation form submission — the applicant, not the recommender, submits the forms.  Any questions should be directed to Becky Robinson at 541-440-7674.
